Lisa Jones Memorial Post-Secondary Scholarship
Lisa Jones was a tireless advocate for the Spina Bifida community. Born with the birth defect herself, she never let her disabilities limit what she set out to do. She attended Camp Riley as a youngster and went on to go to college and lead a joyous, productive life. She was passionate about the Spina Bifida Association of Indiana (now Spina Bifida Indiana) and the Spina Bifida Association of America (SBAA) and encouraged others to support their programs.
With her death in 2016 at age 43, her family (The Jones/Pepiot families) have worked in cooperation with Spina Bifida Indiana (SBIND) to create a memorial fund in her honor. This special fund supports the annual Lisa Jones Memorial Scholarships. A $2,000 Post-Secondary Education scholarship will be awarded each year.
The $2,000 Post-Secondary Education Scholarship will be given to an Indiana student with Spina Bifida who has shown determination, perseverance, and seeks independence.
